Closet Curator : Monochrome Meets Color Blocking

Monochrome and color blocking have traditionally been on opposite ends of the color coordination spectrum, yet here they are, living a Disney Fairy tale.  Having both proved their timelessness in the fashion world, it was only a matter of time before they settled their differences and lived happily ever after.

Monochromatic hues and tones play the starring role in a happy twist on the renowned practice of color blocking. Same color families can’t help but to match, and in a way that is less abrasive than traditional color blocking styles, so this is an easy formula to master.

Soft pastels paired with rich tones, muted shades punctuated with its bright relative, warm neutrals play it safe with their cooler kin and primary colors partner with their relative hues and tones. This version of color play gives a unique theme to an outfit, without being too monotonous.
